Generator Circuit Breakers Market : New Revenue Pockets

In recent times, there have been various developments in terms of technology and functionality of generator circuit breakers. Some big players have designed new era generator circuit breakers that have special features and the potential to grab the global market. Continuous technological changes as per industrial requirements have made manufacturers more competitive.

In North America, arc fault circuit interrupters have been made compulsory by law since 2008. With the SF6 circuit breaker, Siemens is the first producer to launch this kind of device in the European market.

A new fire protection technology of a circuit breaker has been developed by Siemens. It is capable of preventing electrical fires from initiating. The mechanism registers unsafe arcing in an electrical installation and breaks the circuit automatically. Arcing can occur as a consequence of voltage fluctuations in electrical circuits.

ABB, which is also a well-known name in the circuit breakers industry, has developed the world’s first circuit breaker for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC). It combines quick mechanics with power electronics, and are competent of ‘interrupting’ power flows which are thirty times faster than a human blink. This breakthrough removes a 100-year-old obstruction to the development of DC transmission grids. These types of DC grids will also improve grid reliability and enhance the ability of existing AC networks.

All these technological developments are creating new revenue pockets in the generator circuit breaker market.  Moreover, there is a significant increase in imports of generator circuit breakers around the globe. Manufacturers from all over the world are selling their products in international markets, leading to better options of generator circuit breakers in the market.
