Edgertronic High Speed Camera – New Innovation in the High Speed Cameras Technology
Edgertronic camera was introduced by the Sanstreak Corporation recently in September 2013. This is an innovation in the high speed cameras market, for bringing a high speed camera of high frame rates at affordable prices in the market. The Edgertronic cameras are available at frame rates of up to 18000 fps and at different resolution ranges. The Edgertronic high speed cameras are considerable less expensive when compared to the average selling price of the high speed cameras in the current market scenario.
The Edgertronic camera actually is the brainchild of Mike Matter and Juan Pineda, MIT Engineers, who, in search of high quality video cameras, followed with the research on the basic principle behind the high speed cameras technology; that is to record the event at high frame rates. The Edgertronic high speed camera is designed not only on the basis of the quality notch; that is the higher frame rates and resolutions, but the size of the camera is also less than that of the remaining high speed cameras.
This camera is capable of recording videos at a resolution of 1280×1024 pixels which lets you shoot up to 494 frames per second. This increases to 701 frames per second at a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and can even go as high as 17,791 frames per second if the resolution is reduced to about 192×96 pixels.
Even though the camera is a new innovative technology introduced in the market, its quality and reliability are still untested. It is expected that the sales of the Edgertronic cameras may increase due to affordable prices though this growth will most likely be captured by the mature application markets.
