The increasing utilization of polyphthalamide by various sectors has led to the growth of the market.
Polyphthalamide (or PPA) is a semi-aromatic nylon, a thermoplastic functional semi-crystalline material. With its high heat resistant properties and extreme mechanical strength, polyphthalamide finds applications in extreme conditions such as automotive engine area and equipment working in extreme conditions. It can be easily reinforced with glass, carbon and mineral fibers. By retardant modified glass reinforced PPA composite material can have excellent flame retardant properties, which makes glass fiber reinforced composites PPA retardant electrical and electronics, mechanical engineering and other fields have a wide range of applications.
Glass filled polyphthalamide occupies the majority share of the global PPA market. Common applications of PPA include automotive motor bobbin parts, fuel line connectors and coolant pumps as well as bushings and bearing pads in aircraft engines. PPA is also used for pump wear rings in the oil & gas and energy industries.
The increasing utilization of polyphthalamide by various sectors has led to the growth of the market. The polyphthalamide market is projected to reach 150.1 Kilo Tons by 2019, at a CAGR of 7.1% between 2014 and 2019. In terms of value the global polyphthalamide market is projected to reach $913,008.6 Million by 2019.
