This has affected the outsourcing market in a positive way, the healthcare payer has to follow the medical loss ratio decreasing the administrative expenses, it also has to face increased competition as the retail market is open and there are also 30 million new enrollees added to the insurance regime. The healthcare providers are to implement IT in there processes, ICD-10 which will increase the number of codes from 18,000 to 64,000 increasing the demand for trained coders and also decrease reimbursement forcing the providers to reduce cost. The pharmaceutical healthcare industry is affected in an indirect manner, with mounting pressure from both payer as well as providers to reduce costs, also the U.S. government signed a deal with pharmaceutical industry to provide drugs at reduced prices, decreasing their margins. As the reforms are implemented in phases it is an ongoing process.
