On April 2016, Thales Group received a contract from the Royal Thai Navy to modernize its naval capabilities. The company will be responsible for the upgradation of two Bang Rachan Class Minehunters in design provision, integration, training, and support. The company will also provide an integrated combat site for RTNís second Krabi Class Offshore Patrol Vessel. This marks Thales first success in the underwater systems and sonar market in Thailand.

In February 2016, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Environment (Rijkswaterstaat Survey Department IGA) selected Kongsberg Maritime for delivering five Kongsberg Maritime EM 2040C dual head and dual swath systems. The launch of EM 2040C is a critical improvement in acoustic innovation that makes point-by-point overviews of shallow water conceivable utilizing little vessels and dispatches.

On January 2016, Fugro received a contract from the Canadian Hydrographic Service (CHS) to supply vessel-based hydrographic survey services. This contract will help CHS to acquire information from ports, harbors, nearshore, and offshore regions through hydrographic survey systems. This will help the Canadian government to survey its waters and the Arctic region for oil, gas, and other energy resources.
