Contraception is deliberate prevention of pregnancy by interfering with normal process of ovulation, fertilization and implantation through the use of barriers, drugs, medical devices or surgical techniques. Contraceptives are the drugs or devices which prevents pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

North America is account for the largest share of the contraceptives market in 2015 due to the rising incidence of unintended pregnancies, increased use of oral contraceptive pills and emergency contraceptive pills. However, Asia is the fastest growing market due to growing awareness among people, increased incidence of unintended pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
