Wax Emulsion Market

Wax Emulsion Market by Material Base (Synthetic, Natural), Type (PE, PP, Paraffin, Carnauba), End-use Industry (Paints & Coatings, Adhesives & Sealants, Cosmetics, Textiles), Region (APAC, North America, Europe, MEA, SA) - Global Forecast to 2024

[149 Pages Report] In 2019, the wax emulsion market is estimated at USD 1.6 billion and is projected to reach USD 2.0 billion by 2024, at a CAGR of 4.9% from 2019 to 2024. The absence of substitutes, along with the considerable demand from end-user industries such as paints & coatings, adhesives & sealants, and cosmetics, drive the global wax emulsion market during the forecast period.

Wax Emulsion Market

Based on material base, the synthetic base wax emulsion segment is projected to lead the market, in terms of volume, during the forecast period

Synthetic wax emulsions were the most extensively consumed material base for manufacturing. The availability of these products with varied properties makes it suitable for numerous applications, including paints & coatings, cosmetics, and construction. The growth of these end-use industries is expected to propel the growth of the segment over the forecast period.

Based on type, the polyethylene segment is projected to lead the wax emulsion market in terms of volume during the forecast period

Polyethylene wax emulsion was the most widely used type of product due to its economical price and easy availability. This segment is expected to witness the fastest growth during the forecast period. This growth is attributed mainly to the rising construction activities in emerging economies and the absence of close substitute for wax emulsion. Physical attributes such as water-repellence, abrasion resistance, slip control, lubrication, and anti-blocking are also contributing to the growth of polyethylene as the most preferred material for wax emulsion.

By end-use industry, in terms of value, the paints & coatings industry is expected to lead the wax emulsion market during the forecast period

Paints & coatings, adhesives & sealants, cosmetics, and textiles are the major end-use industries for wax emulsion market. Paints & coatings contributed to the largest market share in 2018. Properties such as ease of use, physical stability, and environment-friendly have led to the popularity of wax emulsions in the paints & coatings industry instead of solvents. However, the textiles segment is expected to grow at the highest rate during the forecast period. Improved tear resistance, fabric softening, heat setting, reduced needle cutting are some of the added benefits of using wax emulsion in textiles.

Wax Emulsion Market

Asia Pacific is projected to lead the wax emulsion market during the forecast period

The wax emulsion market in Asia Pacific is anticipated to grow at the highest CAGR between 2019 and 2024. China, Japan, and India together accounted for the lion's share of the Asia Pacific wax emulsion market in 2018. The increasing demand from the industries such as paints & coatings and adhesives & sealants is likely to trigger the growth in wax emulsion market. Easy availability and cost-effective labor are driving the demand for wax emulsions.
