The AR-based solution can empower drivers to safely navigate through dust, sand, and haze, increasing the crew’s survivability. In another instance, in mixed reality training developed by EDIIIE (India), participants complete a mission to eliminate terrorists and recapture a headquarters, utilizing Hololens. The training incorporates smoke effects, bullet sounds, injuries, and Al-driven enemy reactions for enhanced realism. In VR training, soldiers engage in a hostage crisis scenario, collaborating with remote team members and using virtual weapons. The HTC Vive was used for this setup.

In February 2021, the Indian Army bought 556 Augmented Reality Head Mounted Display (ARHMD) systems to improve Land-Based Air Defence Weapon Systems like the IGLA and ZU 23mm 2B AD Gun System. The ARHMD system added radar and thermal imaging overlays, which improved the weapon's performance in different conditions. On February 22, 2021, a Project Sanction Order was given to six vendors to create prototypes. The contract would be awarded after successful prototype development under the Buy (Indian-IDDM) category of DAP 2020.

In January 2023, the Indian Army started using Virtual Reality (VR) technology along the Line of Control (LOC) in Jammu’s Rajouri sector. This technology helps soldiers familiarize themselves with the area and keep watch on enemy movement. It improves their ability to gather information and enhances security along the border. India is increasingly using AR and VR technologies to strengthen its military. By collaborating with startups, the military upgrades training, weapons, and security to improve its defense capabilities.
