Air Management System Market

Contracts eas One of the Key Strategies Adopted by Market Players to Achieve Growth in the Air Management System Market

An air management system is used for bleed air management, and cabin pressurization and controlling temperature of electronic components, among other functions. The air management system market is estimated to be valued at USD 4.68 Billion in 2017 and is projected to reach USD 6.26 Billion by 2022, at a CAGR of 5.97% from 2017 to 2022. The demand for air management systems is expected to increase significantly in the coming years, owing to the increased global air passenger traffic and the consequent rise in aircraft deliveries.

Key system developers in the air management system market include Liebherr Group (Switzerland), United Technologies Corporation (U.S.), Honeywell International Inc. (U.S.), Zodiac Aerospace (U.S.), and Meggitt Plc. (U.K.). These companies accounted for a major share of the air management system market in 2016. The companies adopted strategies, such as contracts, and agreements to increase their market shares in the air management system market.

In July 2016, the Liebherr Group (Switzerland) received a contract from Embraer (Brazil) to supply environmental control systems for flaps and slats. This control system was installed on Embraer narrow body E-Jet E-2 family.

In December 2015, United Technologies Corporation (U.S.) received a contract from Airbus (France) to provide components for its A320neo aircraft. Under the contract, United Technologies  controls, cabin pressure and control systems, electric systems, emergency power systems, and wheels and brake systems, among others.

In October 2016, Honeywell International Inc. (U.S.) signed a long-term auxiliary power unit service center license agreement with European Pneumatic Component Overhaul and Repair (EPCOR). EPCOR (Canada) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of KLM Engineering & Maintenance. Under the contract, EPCOR is expected to enhance its maintenance, repair, and overhaul service center offerings for customers that have Honeywell’s industry-recognized auxiliary power unit.

In December 2014, Zodiac Aerospace (France) acquired Enviro Systems (U.S.), a company operational in the manufacturing and sales of environment control systems for business aircraft and helicopters. Environment control systems provided by the company include vapor cycle air conditioning systems, bleed air control systems, and cabin pressure systems, as well as related equipment and components.
