In March 2014, GE signed a contract worth USD 135 million with the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) to supply four mobile power plants with a capacity exceeding 100 MW. The mobile power plants will be used to expand the power generation capacity of Zawia and W. Tripoli power plants during peak season demand.
Siemens is a renowned organization providing reliable power generation techniques to cope with the challenges in the field of fast power generation techniques. Siemens has now developed its SGT-A45 TR gas turbine for the rapidly growing fast power generation market – a new aero-derivative gas turbine integrated into a mobile unit that delivers an electrical output of up to 44 megawatts. This type of mobile power plant can be installed and commissioned in less than two weeks and starts generating electricity immediately.
