Avebe is engaged in the production and marketing of potato-based starch and proteins to the food, feed, paper, building, textile, and adhesive industries. The company markets its products under the following brands: Eliane, Etenia, Solanic, Casucol, Solvitose, and Protamylasse. It manufactures its products in the Netherlands as well as in other European countries with production sites in the Netherlands, Germany, and Sweden. Avebe U.A. (Netherlands) has three organizational units, namely Avebe Commerce, Avebe Operations, and Avebe Agro. Avebe Agro is involved in the processing of potatoes. Avebe Commerce is engaged in the innovation, marketing, and sales of starch products, protein, and fibers. Avebe Operations is responsible for production, logistics, procurement, and maintenance. It manufactures products for food, industrial and animal nutrition. In April 2021 Averis Seeds B.V., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Avebe, entered into a partnership with the hybrid potato breeding company, Solynta, on the hybrid breeding of starch potato varieties. Hybrid breeding facilitates significantly faster development of new sustainable potato varieties compared to conventional breeding.

Emsland, formerly known as Emsland-Stärke Hunekuhl & Co. KG, is engaged in the production and marketing of potato starch, processed peas products, and other derivatives for the food, textile, additive, pet food, animal feed, paper, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, construction, dye, oil industries, and technical sectors in Germany and internationally. It markets its products in over 100 countries, including Germany, China, Turkey, the US, Argentina, and Dubai. It has a strong distribution network for its products in Asia, South America, the US, and Turkey. It operates as a subsidiary of Beteiligungs Gesellschaft Emsland-Stärke Ag. In July 2020 Emsland Group entered into a strategic partnership with the Brenntag Group (Russia). This strategic decision has reorganized the sales structure of the Emsland Group in Russia. Brenntag took over the distribution of Emsland’s product portfolio for the food industry. The product portfolio also includes technical specialty products, such as native starches, modified starches, proteins, and fibers from peas and potatoes.
