In February 2022, Croda International Plc partnered with Xampla, a company backed by Cambridge University, to develop biodegradable, microplastic-free seed coatings. The project is backed by the UK government and the National Institute of Agricultural Botany and will receive USD 687,083.7 (£640,000) in funding. The partnership will help Croda achieve its ambition to be Land Positive and will future-proof the seed coating industry by offering a solution that complies with a proposed microplastic ban across Europe.
