For instance, in January 2019, EyeLock LLC (acquired by Voxx International) in collaboration with 360fly Inc., announced the integration of EyeLock’s iris authentication technology into a Smart Rear View Mirror with a camera and AI, developed by 360fly for the law enforcement and public safety sectors. EyeLock’s proprietary iris authentication technology is integrated into this unique, multi-faceted mirror, providing unparalleled security and allowing authorized personnel only to operate the vehicle, with access to the vehicle’s connected devices and computers.

In January 2019, Bosch (Stuttgart, Germany) announced its keyless digital access service. It recognizes the owner’s smartphone digital fingerprint and opens the vehicle only for them. The keyless service offers the driver greater convenience and flexibility. The app allows the vehicle owner to grant other users access to their car via an additional key is sent by the cloud. It enable drivers to automatically unlock and start their vehicles without using a key or reaching for their smartphone.  The sensors integrated in the vehicle recognize the owner’s smartphone and unlock the vehicle door for that person only. The security level offered is as comfortable as  the fingerprint authentication. The keyless services also sloves the problem to deactivate the system  if the smartphone is lost so the vehicle cannot go into wrong hands. The application provides multiple authentication which allows access to other drivers but for a limited period of time.

In December 2018, Nuance Communications (Massachusetts, US) introduced humanized mobility assistant that will be core to the digital, button-free car of the future. With these advancements, Nuance has created the world’s first multi-sensorial, cognitive mobility assistant that is poised to change the way drivers and passengers interact with their vehicles, other forms of mobility and transportation, and smart cities.

In September 2018, Nuance Communication (Massachusetts, US) announced that it is providing automotive-grade speech recognition for Geely, China’s fastest-growing automotive manufacturer, as Geely embarks upon a joint venture with PROTON, the Malaysian automaker, to jointly develop vehicles for sale in Southeast Asia and beyond. This marks the first time any speech recognition provider has built AI-powered speech solutions specifically for Southeast Asia.
