In January 2013, Syngenta completed the acquisition of Belgium-based Biotech Seedmaker Devgen NV for about USD 523 million. This defining transaction is expected to be immediately accretive and will significantly expand Syngenta’s position in higher margin, higher growth end markets, including seed treatment and crop protection.
