In December 2020, International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) and Dupont’s Nutrition and Biosciences segment have merged with an expectation of becoming the global leader in the high-value ingredients and solutions for global food & beverage, home & personal care and health & wellness markets.

In March 2021, Veolia water technologies partnered with Riso Scotti, an  Italian leader in rice production, to plant a new wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) for its factory in Pavia, Milan. The plant has Veolia patented technologies for the anaerobic and aerobic treatment of wastewater which will allow reaching up to 90% efficiency in the elimination of organic matter.

In August 2019, Ecolab acquired Chemstar Corporation, a U.S. based supplier of food safety and cleaning and sanitizing solutions focused on the grocery and food retail markets. The acquisition took place for the company to expand its portfolio in cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
