The commercial vehicle parc (MHCVs & buses) is projected to grow from 48.2 million units in 2026 to 54.2 million units by 2030, with a CAGR of 2.3%. The commercial vehicle aftermarket is undergoing a major shift, driven by tightening regulations, the adoption of electric vehicles, the integration of electronics for ADAS, and smaller engines across buses and trucks. Earlier, it was a mechanical servicing and maintenance-oriented process, which is now shifting toward data-rich, software-enabled, and advanced diagnostic services. This shift is reshaping revenue for OEMs, dealers, fleet operators, and independent aftermarket garages, while also revising the parts and services that will be relevant with future technology.
The major components covered in the report are the drivetrain, chassis, electronics, and consumables such as oils and filters. The components are mapped to replacement rates for MHCVs and buses. The components from these systems include the engine, gearbox, axles, tires, brake systems, filters, coils, and ECUs.

One of the major trends is the electrification of commercial vehicles. The electrified parc for MHCV and buses is expected to grow rapidly by 2030. This will bring more electrified commercial vehicles into service and maintenance. Moreover, emission norms are being tightened across major markets, leading OEMs toward sophisticated diagnostics, advanced components, and cleaner powertrains. For the aftermarket ecosystem, this will create opportunities for new revenue models, improved margins, and process advancements.
Regulatory requirements and safety standards across regions are prompting automakers to include advanced driver assistance features in upcoming vehicle launches. At the same time, advances in sensor technologies, including LiDAR, radar, and cameras, along with improvements in AI and data processing, are enabling more accurate and reliable system performance. In addition, software-based ADAS platforms offer flexibility to adapt to regional regulations and varying road conditions through customizable AI algorithms. These platforms also enable integration with connected vehicle systems, improving coordination with traffic infrastructure and other road users.
In late 2024, MAN Trucks & Bus announced the production of the D30 Powerlion engine for MHCVs. It will be smaller than the previous D26 and D16 generations and 50% more efficient. In October 2025, Cummins launched its X10 engines for MHCVs and buses, which will replace its older L9 and X12 engines, with improved efficiency and 75% lower NOx emissions. In May 2026, IVECO launched the S-eWay Artic electric truck for the global market. In the same month, Volvo announced the FH Aero electric truck. Tesla’s most talked-about Semi is expected to start sales in 2026. Moreover, OEMs like Peterbilt, VinFast, Mercedes-Benz, and BYD have announced new electric trucks to be launched by 2030.
Key Tier-1 suppliers such as Eaton, ZF, Paccar, Bosch, Denso, Delphi, Valeo, Schaeffler, Allison Transmission, and Delco Remy offer components and assemblies for drivetrain systems. Other major suppliers such as Michelin, Continental, Castrol, Total Energies, Shell, Fleetguard, and Mann+Hummel offer tires, lubricants, and filters.
Key distributors that help OEMs and suppliers distribute their products in the aftermarket generally have multiple distribution channels. Key distributors in the US include HDA, Viper, TruckPro, FleetPride, Valley, HME, Weller, and CCC. Similarly, key distributors in Europe include Euro Part, Temot, Winker, ATR, Groupauto, and AD International, among others. Asia is a fragmented market, and each country has its own key distributors. China has SORL, Autotec, and Caanass. In India, Uno Minda, Tata Autocomp, and Narmada Motors are leading players. Japan has SPK, Nippan, and Impex as its key distributors. The rest of the world is also a fragmented market with regional presence of the players. TRP and Frasle in Latin America, Weport in Africa, and Truckline in Australia are major players.
Key service chains are also regionally focused. Napa, Ryder, Amerit, Fleet Services, FleetNet America, Inland, and Rush are key garage chains in the US. Europe is dominated by Euromaster, Top Truck, Nexus Truck, All Trucks, and Best Drive. Similarly, China has Truehauf, Japan has MGH, and India has First Choice and Bosch Services. In the rest of the world, the garage chains are Groupauto, Truckfix, ASAS, and CMV.
Key e-commerce players in the US include FinditPart, LKQ, and FleetPride. Europe is dominated by EuroPart, Mister Auto, Autoline, HGV, and Winker. China has a large presence of Alibaba, Carzone, Made in China, and Tuhu. AutoDukan, Truck Parts, and Moglix have a decent presence in India. The Japanese market is led by Impex, mangoauto.jp, truckpartsjp, and goodtruckgoodluck.
Market Ranking
The commercial vehicle aftermarket is competitive around the world. The US leads the MHCV parc, followed by China. The bus parc is led by China, followed by India. In engine downsizing, all the major OEMs, including MAN, Scania, Daimler, Paccar, Tata, and Iveco, are actively investing in R&D and have introduced smaller, more efficient engines over the past couple of years. In the introduction of electronics in trucks and buses, Daimler, Volvo, Fuso, BYD, Traton, Mercedes-Benz, and Tesla have made notable advancements. Similarly, in the connected trucks space, OEMs such as Renault Trucks, Iveco, MAN, Traton, DAF, and Mack have a large number of connected trucks in their parc. Considering sustainability and electric trucks, BYD, Volvo, Tata, UD Trucks, Paccar, Volkswagen Trucks, Dongfeng, FAW Trucks, and XOS are leading the market as well as the parc.
