For instance, in March 2019, Güdel (Switzerland) started offering condition monitoring systems and software solutions based on IIoT technology for track rollers used in gantry robots. This will enable the preventive maintenance of the robotic system. In October 2019, Bosch Rexroth (Germany) launched a new frame size 140 for its MKK and MKR linear modules. Along with the previously offered frame sizes, i.e., 40, 65, 80, and 110, and the new frame of 140, the MKK linear modules can be adapted for applications such as handling iron cast materials and assembling iron casted machines or automotive bodies, wherein corrosion resistance is of utmost importance. These modules minimize the installation and integration efforts needed for setting up a robotic system. Apart from this, market players have also adopted the strategies of expansions to expand their geographical reach. Güdel (Switzerland) started by manufacturing good quality drive technology components such as racks and pinions and linear guideways back in 1960, and by 1991, it developed the ZP (2-axis) and FP (3-axis) series of gantry robots, capable of handling payloads of more than 2,700 Kg. In 1995, Güdel developed the TrackMotion (TMO) drive axis that allowed the attachment of articulated robots with its gantry robots. The TrackMotion system was improved further in 2014 for high-precision applications and different positions (elevated, wall, and ceiling). Gantry robots are offered with up to 3-axis configuration as a standard. The ZP and FP series of robots are offered to date, along with several new series of multi-axis robots. Robots offered by the company have a payload capacity of 41 Kg to 5,303 Kg. The company offers robots with two types of drives: rack and belt drives. Robots with belt drive systems (Type MLB) are more suitable for general handling applications, whereas rack drive robots are geared for precision applications. A distinctive feature of these robots is that the position of the support legs can be adjusted according to the position of the gantry beam. These robots can perform a variety of tasks, including packaging, palletizing, joining (bonding, welding, etc.), cutting, assembling, and testing. Güdel has subsidiaries in more than 20 locations across the world; a few of them are Güdel Germany GmbH, Güdel S.r.l. (Italy), Güdel SAS (France), Güdel TSC S.A. de C.V. (Mexico), Güdel Inc. (US), and Güdel India Pvt. Ltd. Most of the subsidiaries are located in Europe, while the rest are located in the US, Mexico, Russia, Brazil, South Korea, China, Taiwan, and India.

Liebherr has over 130 subsidiaries in more than 50 countries, including the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. The company also has around 30 sales and service centers across the world; its main service site is located in Germany. For the Gear Technology and Automation Systems business division, the company has production sites at 5 locations–Saline (US), Kempten (Germany), Ettlingen (Germany), Collegno (Italy), and Bengaluru (India).
