OpenAI Gets Unlimited Access to the Internet
OpenAI has made significant advancements with its ChatGPT platform.
Bing-Powered Search: OpenAI has officially integrated the "Browse with Bing" feature into ChatGPT. This allows the chatbot to access real-time information from the web, a significant upgrade from its previous limitation where it could only access data up to September 2021. This feature is available to ChatGPT Plus and Enterprise subscribers.
DALL·E 3 Integration: DALL·E 3, OpenAI's text-to-image generator, has been integrated with ChatGPT. This means users can now receive images as part of their text-based queries without switching between apps. DALL·E 3 simplifies the process of generating images based on textual prompts, with ChatGPT assisting in refining the user's request.
The generative AI market is expected to grow from USD 11.3 billion in 2023 to USD 76.8 billion by 2030, at a CAGR of 31.5%. This growth is attributed to advancements in AI and deep learning technologies, increased content creation, and the rising demand for creative applications.
OpenAI had initially rolled out the "Browse with Bing" feature earlier but had to pull it back due to concerns about displaying paywalled content and potential misuse. The feature was reintroduced after ensuring it adheres to site-owner instructions, similar to traditional web crawlers. ChatGPT's capabilities have been expanded to include speech-to-text, allowing users to converse verbally with the chatbot. Additionally, the bot can now understand and respond to queries based on images. However, there have been instances where ChatGPT's interpretation of images, especially those with human interactions, has been off-mark.
OpenAI is continuously enhancing ChatGPT. Reports suggest that in November, the company plans to add more memory storage and vision capabilities to the enterprise developer model of ChatGPT. An announcement regarding these updates is expected at the company's developer conference on November 6.
In essence, OpenAI's ChatGPT is evolving rapidly, with the integration of real-time web search, image generation, and enhanced user interaction capabilities, positioning it as a versatile and powerful tool in the AI chatbot domain.
